National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls

October 4, 2023 All day
October 4, is the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQ+ people (MMIWG). Today, across we honour the lives and legacies of the victims and survivors, the women, girls and 2SLGBTQ+ loved ones impacted by this tragic and on-going violence.
Today is a day that you use your voice to advocate for change, to support and comfort a loved one who may be struggling, or take the time learn more about the underlying causes of this terrible violence and the ways you can be involved in making a difference.
Today, as you observe a moment of remembrance for our sisters, we ask that you light a candle in your window to show your support and solidarity.
Share your thoughts on this national day of action and remembrance with your communities by using the hashtags #SISVigils and #MMIWG
We hope that you come together today, and all days, to call for action, change, justice and peace.
